Q. How does Planetspring.com work?
A. Planetspring.com is the ultimate place for all of your spring needs. Planetspring.com was constructed for spring buyers to find the perfect spring supplier for their job. All you have to do is post one RFQ and that RFQ will get sent out to suppliers all over the country that specialize in the type of spring you are looking for. No more searching, Planetspring.com does all the work for you. Almost anything you need to know about springs can be found here. We have technical articles, online spring calculators, places to buy and sell equipment, buy and sell overrun stock, find a spring company as well as many other things.

Q. How does Planet Spring Benefit Me?
A. Planetspring.com takes all the work out of searching for the right spring supplier for your job. We understand that it is hard to find the right supplier with enough expertise in the spring you are looking for while still needing a good price. Planetspring.com will send out the 1 RFQ that you create to only suppliers who are specialists in the type of spring you are looking for. Then you will receive multiple quotes on your RFQ and you will be able to choose the best supplier for you, lowering you workload and your cost.

Q. How much does it cost?
A. Planetspring.com is FREE to all buyers looking to purchase springs. Spring suppliers pay an annual membership fee with no additional commissions or transactions fees.

Q. Is there technical spring information available on Planetspring.com?
A. Yes, there are numerous technical articles on Planetspring.com. In our spring knowledge section you can find an explanation of torsion springs, gas springs, coil springs, extension springs, wire forms, spring rings, spring washers, automotive springs, as well as many more. Please visit our spring knowledge section to begin learning about springs.

Q. How do I get started with Planetspring.com?
A. To get started simply fill out the registration form by clicking here.

Q. Why can I not view some of the text or images on the site?
A. Planetspring.com is a very dynamic site. Since there are so many applications that can be done on Planetspring.com the site requires that you download the newest version of Internet Explorer, Firefox or Safari. Please check the home page for links to these browsers.

Q. How do I create an RFQ?
A. To begin creating an RFQ you will need to log into your dashboard (if you have not registered with Planetspring.com you will need to do so before you can log in). Once you are in your dashboard there is section called “Add RFQ”. In this section there is a button at the bottom right of the page called “create your RFQ”, click this button. Simply fill out this form by following the instructions on the right hand side. If you still need help with this process please watch the video below.

Q. What do I do after I choose a supplier for my job?
A. After you have chosen a supplier you will need to award the job in the RFQ Review section of your Buyer’s dashboard. Simply go to the “quoted” section and click on “award” beneath the quote that you have chosen.

Q. Who sees my RFQ?
A. Your RFQ will only get sent out to the suppliers who have purchased the category that you have chosen for your RFQ. No supplier who is not qualified to manufacture the type of spring you are looking for will receive your RFQ.

Q. I am having trouble working the calculators
A. If you are having trouble using the calculators you can watch the how to video at the top of the individual calculator.

Q. Where can I get up to date spring news and technical information?
A. If you would like to stay on top of all of the new information in the spring industry, simply join our mailing list by clicking the link at the top of every page or visit our spring news sections.

Q. In order to use the Planetspring.com calculators I need to know how to measure a spring. Can you help me with this?
A. Yes, please go to the spring videos section of Planetspring.com. There you will see the “how to” section. Click on the how to link. In there you will see video on how to measure compression, extension, and torsion springs.

Q. How does Planet Spring Benefit Me?
A. When you become a Spring Supplier on Planetspring.com you expose your company to new opportunities. We offer spring jobs that fit your companies manufacturing specialties to a tee. How do we do this? Each RFQ that is posted on our site is very specific as to which type of spring the customers is looking for, we then filter the specific RFQ that matches your companies manufacturing "expertise" so you can offer a potential new customer a great quote based on your "niche" in the spring industry.

Q. How does Planetspring.com benefit my spring company?
A. We offer you a vast amount of spring knowledge like an online spring calculator and spring maker's blog so spring makers get answers on technical questions from other spring makers around the world. Q. I am a spring maker, or member of the spring community and I want to use the spring maker's blog and the calculator, where do I register for a FREE membership?
A. If you are a member of the spring community interested in gaining knowledge and sharing the knowledge you already have with the spring community by participating in the spring maker's blog, or adding an article to new spring technologies, or if you want the ability to use the on-line spring calculator for most efficient way to design springs online then you need to register as a supplier with planetspring.com. Click on the big orange button on the right hand side of the home page and fill out all of the required information. Click “I am a member of the spring community which allows you to participate in the spring maker's blog, submit new spring technologies and use the online spring calculator. You will not have access to the quoting process or any of the other paid sections of the site. However, you will get a spring maker's dashboard where you can upload your profile and keep track of any emails that go through Planetspring.com.

Q. What do I do if I am the Awarded supplier because the buyer has awarded me a job?
A. If you are awarded a job on Planetspring.com you can choose to confirm the award, meaning you are going to manufacturer the job for the supplier, or you can deny the award, meaning you no longer want to work with that buyer. After you have confirmed the award all you have to do is rate the supplier at the end of the job.

Q. How do I quote a job?
A. To quote a job simply log into your dashboard and click on “RFQ Review”. From there go into the open section, these will be all the RFQs available for quoting. From there click on the “view RFQ” button. Once you have viewed the RFQ and have decide to quote it click on the “quote RFQ” button. From there you will be brought to the quote page. Simply fill out your price per quantity and any additional costs that will be incurred on the RFQ. When you are finished click submit. For further help please watch the video at the top of the quote page.

Q. Who sees my quotes?
A. The only person that can see your quote is the buyer who sent you the RFQ.

Q. What if I cannot view the prints on the RFQs?
A. If you cannot view the prints on an RFQ it is most likely because you have an older version of your Internet browser. Since Planetspring.com is a new site with vast amounts of information, it requires that you have at least IE 7 or Firefox 3.0 (links to these pages can be found at the bottom of the Planetspring.com home page). Planetspring.com can also be viewed using Safari or Google Chrome.

Q.How can I get my company’s listing on Planetspring.com?
A. If you would like to be a supplier on our Find A Spring Company List, and your name doesn’t already appear simply click on the link at the top of the page and fill out the information form to be added. If you are a supplier of spring equipment on spring tooling and would like to be part of our Tools of the Trade link simply send an email with all of your company’s information (including what categories your company would be under) to customerservice@planetspring.com.

Q. How do I post a Spring Equipment, Spring Career, or a Deal on Overrun Stock?
A. To post any of these things you must be a registered supplier. If you have already registered as a supplier, simply log into your supplier dashboard. If you are looking to add a spring equipment click on the spring equipment button at the top of the page and then click add new. From there fill out the form and upload a picture. To add a spring career or a deal on overrun stock use the more options drop down list.
